

About SHERO
SHERO, which stands for Sexual Health Empowerment & Reproductive Outreach, is a new initiative dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health specifically for Black women in Lambeth. Launched by The Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN), and Africa Advocacy Foundation funded by Lambeth Council.
An outreach initiative aimed at advancing knowledge and take up of sexual and reproductive health for Black women in Lambeth. Guided by the rallying slogan “Championing Sexual and Reproductive Health for Black Heritage Women*,” SHERO seeks to empower local communities, reduce health disparities, and create open, inclusive conversations about sexual and reproductive wellness. The initiative is supported by Lambeth Council.
The SHERO team is opened to engaging the wider Lambeth community with an interest in Black Women’s health and initiatives. The team has 12 dedicated SHERO Health Champions, the programme will drive educational workshops, health resources, and community engagement events that focus on health awareness, prevention, and proactive wellness. This initiative is part of the wider and long-term programme of work dedicated to improving the sexual and reproductive health of Black heritage communities.
SHERO is committed to fostering open discussions and ensuring access to quality health information. By reducing disparities in sexual health, the initiative aims to build a supportive and informed community around sexual and reproductive wellness.

SHERO – BLACK WOMEN’S DAY

Location: South London
Activities: International Women’s Day celebration, free health checks, entertainment, children’s activities, refreshments, music, prizes, health talks on sexual and reproductive health, and more.
